Dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

I spotted the 1/35 "Border Break" Cross Frame Model Zebra 41, on Ngee Khiongs blog today and I'm really impressed by its design. This is scheduled for a September release

I'm pretty unfamiliar with this range of kits but as its from Kotobukiya I woudl imagine its very high quality.

Has anyone built any kits from the "Border Break" range and if so, what are you opinions of the model?

Specific details:

- Shares a common frame with other units, parts can be swapped between Zebra 41 and the other units.
- Right and left thigh booster are expandable. Part swapping to extend the length of the nozzle.
- Weapons and equipments: LZ-Triad, Sentry Gun LZ, Optical Camouflage and sniper weapons can be mounted onto the back.

I wouldn't think so. Kotobukiya's LineBarrel and Armored Core models need a bit of painting to get them to look like the promotional pictures so I'd imagine this kit will need some work.

With a good paint job it has amazing potential, I'm pretty much sold on it already.

I agree. The MS design is very nice and I really like the weapons that come with it (especially the beam cannon thing).

:D I think a strongly worded e-mail to your IT department is required. ;)

I think I'd get in trouble instead. lol. It's marked as "mature content; shopping". I'll just check it out on my iphone instead. :) The Zebra looks very good, the others, not so much imo.

Guiltaurs review of his has been posted on youtube (link below). I've been looking at the model a lot today and honestly think its one of the most impressive kits announced this year. This has been moved from my "wish list" to my "must have" list ;)

Yup having watched his review, I've got to say, his complaints are typical of Kotobukiya kits. I have to admit, im slightly disappointed, I would have thought Kotobukiya would have come leaps and bounds and improved alot on the Border Break kits. Even so, i might buy the Zebra one, just as a stoic display piece.

Some new images of the Border Breaks Zebra 41 over on the GA Graphics website. Speaking as someone who enjoys detail painting, this model continues to look like an essential purchase.

A cynic & a dreamer

I'm interested in these two kits - they're the ones featured in the anime intro of the PS4 Border Break game. I'm a bit disappointed that Alter has a ridiculously expensive Cougar NX kit out that's at least three times the cost of Kotobukiya's. Now I'm starting to wonder if these are entirely new molds, or if they, like the previous kits, use Koto's Frame Architect inner frame.
