Dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

Does anyone collect Lego sets?

The reason I ask, is because the Tantive IV (one of my favorite Star Wars ships) has caught my eye, and I was wondering if they were fun to build?

Would I be better off spending €150 on a PG Strike?

I think legos are pretty cool. I like all the pirate ones and would love to have some but as of right now I would spend it on the PG.

Yeah theyre totally fun to build. I had 5 sets in total, including the arc-fighter the clones use, and its awesome. I gave all of mine away though, but theyre really fun

Legos are awesome. I think I owe the fact that I build gunpla today to legos, since I love to build stuff. Anyway, the Star Wars legos are always great. Back when I was getting them during their Episode III lineup (when the movie was in theaters), they were always interesting, and even had little gimmicks built in. I'd imagine they'd be just as good today.

Though, I'd go with the PG even though I'm not a fan of the Strike's design. There's just more intricacy in it's design then a lego.

You're so much better off spending your money on the PG.

From my experience, stock LEGO sets don't often offer very fantastic engineering.

Lego sets are rediculously expensive and over priced. They're nice, but the price is too much most of the time. I'd go with the strike

you mean expensive HERE in Australia lol

when I look for kit's I want to build I tend to go for the Technic's Lego range, takes longer to build and impressive size and detail, worth ever dollar haha

Yes I have all the UCS kits. I can get some pics if you would like! The Tantaive 4 was pretty good to build not great though.

Man the star wars lego sets are spiffy. I had the set with the 3 pod racers from episode one. Best $90 I ever spent on legos.

Since this is a year old now, and I don't know if anyone is still interested, I think that if you were to spend some serious money on a Star Wars model, go for the UCS Imperial Shuttle:

Posted Image

It has around 2,500 pieces and costs as much as a Perfect Grade ($250). I think it's a far better design than the Tantive, and if you were looking for the Tantive, go for the original UCS Blockade Runner (the one without the minifigs), if you can find it for the right price (which is pretty darn difficult, since it's a very old, non-reissued set).

That is one beautiful looking Lego model.

I've actually just picked up a new Lego Star Wars kit myself (My fist lego set since I was 12!!, I was going to get a PK MKII but couldn't resist the set I eventually got (all will be revealed in my holiday haul next week).

I have the Imperial Shuttle myself and it was a great build but I do agree LEGO in general are on the pricey side and the Star Wars UCS is even worse. Luckily the Imperial Shuttle is on sale on Amazon right now:

Wow, that is an incredible set.

I'm actually really excited to be getting back into Lego. I haven't built a kit in a long long time, and the set I got last week looks like a fantastic build (and should keep me occupied for at least an afternoon!).

Zip, I shared this model with the forum at Christmas, I got the Millennium Falcon pictured below. Its a real monster kit as you can see, particularly when compared to the MG Full Armor Unicorn.

Lucasfilm keeps demanding more royalties or something cuz the star wars sets have had some ridiculous price jacks lately. I bought very few as of recent and haven't gotten any more since I spent $400 on my last set. Only because it's my favorite vehicle in all of Star Wars.

It sure does make a lovely fireplace decoration. Oh god it's gonna hit the Sears Tower!!!

Thanks! I spent literally all day working on it. 24 hours and everything. Then 2 days later? Took it apart and built it all up again! Love that set to death!

IT looks like a incredible build, I believe there are over 3,000 parts, you did great to build it in a 24 hr time scale.

BTW, a little sneak peak at an upcoming lego release, R2-D2 is on display on the left hand side of this image

Somewhat too blocky compared to other UCS models, but that's the spirit of Lego, I suppose.

Lego are doing a promotion next weekend (4th and 5th May). If you spend $75 on a Star Wars lego set in their store you will receive a limited edition TC-14 mini fig. These exclusive/ limited figures are extremely valuable and you will be stunned at the prices that go for on Ebay (example below).

I've my eye on a new set and if this promotion is valid in Europe (it may be US only), I'm thinking of splashing out on a new set.

I might just pick up that Tie Fighter as well, got the Falcon at Christmas and it would be great to have the three classic ships from the original movie.

These sets have come a long way from my childhood, I'm seriously considering starting a collection.
