Not sure where this will come under. at 1/12, this will be close to the Figurise-6 size. On the other hand, this also fit well to the proposed "Sprukit" Bandai America exhibit last year. The article do not specify either it seems.

Dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

Super news, a figurise style range of Star Wars characters has incredible potential.

Count up your sins!
1/12th scale should make this around Hot Toys sizes, which is around six inches if you're familiar with those kinds of figures.

I thought the hot toys were about a foot tall if I remembered correctly with my iron man and war machine?!?

I wonder how these stack up against koto's snap fit figures, since I already have a few of those already.

By the way, maybe we can re-title this post to "Sprukits Star Wars" or something?

No the ships aren't going to be under Sprukits, they aren't action figures.

Also missed the 1/1700 Star Destroyer, the droids, too

I guess this Storm Trooper is just sculpt test model, because there is no joints on it it seems...

I'm definitely buying a Stormtrooper. Wonder how easy it would be to make it into a Sandtrooper though?

I hope they go back and do the prequels also. I'd love to see some Clone Troopers and Super Battle Droids. Or even a Droideka/Destroyer Droid!

1/12 is way too small for a figure model. The mechanics are very interesting, but I don't think that Bandai could touch Fine Molds.

1/12th are about 6inch, which is Figurise-6 / SH Figuart / Figma type size. So the detail won't be amazing, but would be enough for an action figure.

Good move of Bandai imo. In our local toy and hobby-stores Bandai pretty much doesn't exist and by the looks of it, the attempts of Revell to encourage people unfamiliar with model kits didn't seem to work-out as well.

But with this new line I can easily see people getting some of these kits (me included :Ya: ) just for the fun of it. Fine-molds is top-notch when it comes to detailed kits for experienced modellers, Bandai is best in making kits for a broader audience who just want to snap a bit in their free time.
And maybe Bandai will include little flyers to "inform" about Gunpla as well?

Yep, a Stormtrooper would be nice, a R5-D4 maybe...wonder when AT-AT and AT-ST will hit the shelves :castlerock:

To much getting, not enough doing
Does anyone know if the 1/72 kits will be snap fit or glued. Has Bandai made anything glued recently?

As for ease of building/painting, Fine-Molds went out of their way to make some of the kits really easy - example: Tie Fighter (especially the solar panels)

I've been eying the Fine-Molds kits, but now I'll probably wait for a comparison.

Has anyone seen a release date for the model kits? HLJ has the xwing slated for this month, and i really hope its released before my private warehouse hold runs out. I have 15 days left lol i want to combine shipping! Amazon says the 31st for the us release, so it should be earlier, no?

The X-Wing is scheduled to be released on November 22nd, so by next weekend HLJ should start sending it. I want to see the runners of that kit.

HLJ just charged me for the X Wing. Seems like a kit that will require quite a bit of work to make it look good.

Runners photoreview of the Star Wars kits that came out this month!

X-Wing Starfighter: http://www.gunjap.net/site/?p=219636
TIE Advanced X-1: http://www.gunjap.net/site/?p=219645
Darth Vader: http://www.gunjap.net/site/?p=219626

Notable stuff:

- The option for stickers or waterslide decals for all kits. NICE!! ^_^
- All kits come with display stands.
- The TIE Fighter has multi-molded panels/binders.
- Vader's cape is made up of 6 parts. His helmet is one molded piece.

star wars is always popular in japan. bandai got the license is because many america entertainment companies notice the quality of gundam production from bandai. that's why more and more american toys are labeled bandai, but many still made in china lol.

I see that vader listed for like 100+ on amazon.

Just came home to the xwing, only 5 runners including the stand. Will probably snap it soon, and start my group build entry.

I don't know how i feel about that Tie Bomber, that double mold kind of annoys me for painting.
Oh man, it comes with regular stickers AND waterslides! Way to go bandai. This should be a standard!
